Sedgemoor District CouncillorsLeader: Cllr Joe Leach
Joe is 22 years old and has been Leader of the group since April 2008. He was first elected as councillor for Highbridge in 2007 and serves on the councils Licensing and General Purpose's committee and the Corporate Scrutiny committee. He is keen to see Sedgemoor's residents get a clear breakdown of where their money is spent, and to be able to fully support services, and eliminate stealth charges introduced under the current Conservative administration. John was first elected for Highbridge in May 2007 and was elected Deputy Leader of the group in April 2008. He works full time as a locum GP and serves on the councils Community Scrutiny committee. John takes a keen interest in the environment portfolio and was pro-unitary during the debate, and still maintains the council could save millions of pounds by creating a single authority. . Mike was elected in May 2003 as Liberal Democrat councillor for Burnham-On-Sea South. Retired, Mike serves on the councils Development Management committee and the National Non-Domestic Rates panel. A veteran Councillor, Mike served as group leader from 2007-2008, and was elected group chair in April 2008. Mike takes a ken interest in the Tourism and business management portfolio.
